About the Role
Ericsson is hiring a Data Engineer to work on high-volume, low-latency data platforms powering GenAI systems, AI agents, enterprise copilots, and Telecom OSS/BSS solutions. The role focuses on building scalable data platforms, distributed processing systems, microservices, AI data pipelines, and cloud-native applications.
Responsibilities
- Build and operate large-scale, high-throughput data systems.
- Develop scalable solutions using Python and Java.
- Design and optimize distributed data pipelines using Apache Spark.
- Engineer low-latency batch and streaming data processing systems.
- Work with Cassandra and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch platforms.
- Build scalable backend services and REST APIs using Spring Boot.
- Work with AWS and Microsoft Copilot-based technology stacks.
- Develop MCP-based applications and enterprise integrations.
- Build RAG pipelines across operational, customer, service, and network data.
- Engineer pipelines for embeddings, vector databases, and retrieval systems.
- Implement DataOps and MLOps pipelines using Docker, Kubernetes, Kubeflow, and CI/CD.
- Ensure system scalability, observability, reliability, and performance.
- Manage open-source software vulnerabilities through security scanning and patching.
Requirements
- Strong expertise in Python and Java.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Spark and distributed processing.
- Experience designing high-volume, low-latency systems.
- Strong knowledge of Cassandra, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, and NoSQL data modeling.
- Experience building APIs and microservices using Spring Boot.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
- Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of logging, monitoring, alarm handling, and fault management.
- Understanding of LLMs, embeddings, RAG, and GenAI data pipelines.
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Telecom OSS/BSS domain knowledge.
- Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of AI observability, explainability, and responsible AI.
