About the Role
Emerson is seeking an Intern or Co-op to support finance process automation and reporting initiatives. The role involves developing automation solutions, creating Power BI dashboards, analyzing financial data, and improving operational efficiency within finance functions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement automation solutions for finance processes using Python.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Analyze large datasets to identify process improvement and automation opportunities.
- Automate repetitive tasks including data extraction, reconciliation, and reporting workflows.
- Collaborate with finance stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across automated systems and reports.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities through automation enhancements.
- Document processes, workflows, and technical solutions.
- Train and support finance teams on automation tools and dashboards.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance existing automation scripts and reporting solutions.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python for automation and data processing.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI for dashboard development and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of finance processes including reporting, reconciliation, and closing cycles.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with finance transformation or process automation projects.
- Familiarity with SQL, advanced Excel functions, or other analytics platforms.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and financial data structures.
- Experience working with cross-functional or global teams.
- Exposure to process improvement methodologies.
